Oidupaa Oiun – Divine Music

Whether in stock, or just streaming in store, we’ve got you covered with real, human-generated recommendations straight from the store stereo. We do not receive anything if you buy. All recommendations are our own. (This for fun!)

If you’re only able listen to one Tuvan throat singing, solo accordion album this year (and I somehow think that you might), we have most certainly found our winner. Mournful, wrenching, and masterful in execution.
Multi-layered vocals issue from a single tongue, Tom Waits rough, as the accordion bubbles into its own sort of remarkable storm. Beyond the remarkable technical talent required to pull this act off, there’s a jaunty, epic enthusiasm that makes this album unlike any other. “Unique” just got a new outlier to mark the edges existence.
